Crime advice from your local policing team

Good evening,

A number of arrests have been made this week in Forest Gate; one for breach of their electronic tag conditions, one for failing to appear in court, another for breach of their Community Protection Notice. An individual was also arrested for possession of Class A drugs and recall to prison.

Officers have been completing visits, attending calls and conducting stop and searches. We have also been patrolling and speaking to residents about our new platform Met Engage. We hope all of our residents are enjoying our updates and find them useful.

With the dark nights drawing in, please think about your home security.

Check your door and window locks are working properly

Secure doors and windows when they are not being used – including sheds, garages and outbuildings

Keep valuables out of view of passersby, windows and doors

Keep house/car keys away from your letterbox

Use a spy hole or door chain if you are not sure who is knocking at your door

Where possible, install CCTV and an alarm to your property to deter burglars
